The Browning Hunter Series is a balanced-protection gun safe: security level 4 of 10, 12-gauge steel and 80 minutes of fire protection at 1,550°F, available in 3 sizes that hold up to 49 long guns. Updated for 2026 with LED lighting, an electrical outlet and Scope Savers built into the door panel, on a 12-gauge body with nine round bolts.

What Makes the BROWNING | HUNTER Model Special

Level 4 out of 10 Security

The Hunter is built on a 12-gauge steel body with continuous welds and a 1-1/4" Formed door with an inner plate. The Force Deflector™ locking system keeps prying and pounding forces on the bolts or handle from reaching the lock, nine chrome-plated 1" bolts (six active) secure the top and sides of the door, and Pry-Stop® End Bolts protect the door corners. Hardened steel pin lock protection and UL Listed construction provide dependable mid-tier security.

80 Minute Fire Protection

The Hunter is certified for 95 minutes of fire protection at 1,200°F and 80 minutes at 1,550°F. Browning's ThermaBlock® fire insulation interlocks to minimize gaps (1-7/8" in the ceiling, 1-1/4" in the body and 1-3/4" in the door), and external hinges avoid the heat path that internal hinges create. In a fire, the Palusol® door seal expands once it reaches 212°F, closing the gap around the door against heat and smoke. That is a solid level of protection for typical residential fire scenarios.
