Norcal Safe and Vault Return Policy
At Norcal Safe and Vault, we strive to provide exceptional products and customer service. To ensure a transparent and fair return process, we have outlined our policies based on the type of product purchased. Please review the applicable section for your item.
General Return Conditions
- Return Window: You have 15 days from the date of delivery to request a return for all eligible items.
- Condition: Items must be returned in their original, unused condition with all packaging, accessories, and tags intact. Items that show signs of use, damage, or tampering may not be eligible for return or may incur additional fees.
- Proof of Purchase: A valid receipt or proof of purchase is required for all returns.
- Payment Method for Refunds: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. For credit or debit card payments, refunds will be processed to the same card used at the time of purchase. For cash payments, refunds will be issued via check.
- Right to Deny: Norcal Safe and Vault reserves the right to deny any return, refund, or exchange in cases of suspected fraud, abuse of the return policy, or any attempt to manipulate the return process. This includes cases where items have been altered, used, or returned without meeting the conditions outlined above.
- Chargebacks and Dispute Protection: We comply with all major credit card company policies regarding returns and refunds. Customers are required to follow our return process before initiating a chargeback or dispute. Failure to comply may result in the denial of the return and potential forfeiture of the refund.
Items Not Eligible for Return
- Customized Products: Any custom-built or modified safes, including safes with special finishes or unique features requested by the customer.
- Closeouts and Clearance Items: Items sold as clearance or closeouts are non-returnable and non-refundable.
- Scratch-and-Dent Safes: Safes sold as scratch-and-dent models are non-returnable.
- Used Products: Any used safes or products cannot be returned.
1. Return Policy for Smaller Items (Accessories & Handgun Vaults)
This section applies to smaller items such as accessories, handgun vaults, and other items weighing under 50 lbs that can be returned via common carriers like USPS, UPS, or FedEx.
Eligibility for Returns
- Items must be in new, unused condition with all original packaging and tags.
- Customized products, closeouts, clearance items, and used products are not eligible for return.
- Norcal Safe and Vault may refuse returns of items that do not meet these conditions or may apply restocking fees.
Return Process
- Initiate a Return: Contact us at kevin@norcalsafeandvault.com with your order number, reason for return, proof of purchase, and the payment card or method used to make the purchase.
- Return Authorization: After review and approval of your request, we will issue a return authorization and provide a pre-paid shipping label.
- Return Shipping: Use the provided label to send the item back within 14 days of receiving the return authorization. Return shipping costs will be deducted from the refund unless the return is due to an error on our part.
- Refunds: Once the item is received and inspected, we will process your refund to the original payment method within 5-7 business days. Refunds may take up to 5 additional days to appear in your account, depending on your card issuer’s policies. Refunds for cash purchases will be issued via check. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Fraud Prevention
Norcal Safe and Vault actively monitors for fraudulent activity, including abuse of returns and false claims of product defects or damages. Any attempt to return items that do not meet our stated return criteria will be denied. Further, returns without a valid receipt or proof of purchase will not be accepted.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged or defective, you must contact us immediately, within 48 hours of delivery, with photos and a detailed description. Any delay in reporting damage may affect your eligibility for a replacement or refund. We will assess the issue and, if validated, provide either a replacement or a refund.
2. Return Policy for Safes (Large Items)
This section applies to safes and other large items weighing over 50 lbs that require special handling and cannot be returned via common carriers.
Eligibility for Returns
- Safes must be in new, undamaged, and unused condition with all original packaging and accessories. Installed, modified, or used safes are not eligible for return.
- Custom safes, special orders, non-stocking SKU items, closeouts, clearance items, scratch-and-dent safes, and used safes are not eligible for return.
Return Process
- Initiate a Return: Contact us at kevin@norcalsafeandvault.com with your order number, reason for return, proof of purchase, and photos of the safe in its current condition.
- Evaluation: Your return request will be evaluated to ensure it meets our eligibility requirements. If approved, we will arrange for safe pick-up or provide instructions for return.
- Return Fees: A return shipping and handling fee will apply, covering the cost of pick-up and transportation to our facility. Fees will vary depending on the size, weight, and location of the safe, and will be disclosed before authorizing the return.
- Refunds: After the safe is received and inspected, we will issue a refund to your original payment method, minus return and restocking fees. Refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days, and it may take up to an additional 5 days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider.
Fraud Prevention
Norcal Safe and Vault reserves the right to deny returns on large safes if there are signs of tampering, damage caused post-delivery, or misuse. Items returned without proper authorization or proof of purchase may not be refunded.
Damaged or Defective Safes
Inspect your safe upon delivery. If it arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours with photos and details of the damage. Failure to report damage within this timeframe may result in the denial of any return, replacement, or refund.
3. Special Order Policy
This section applies to custom safes and any products specifically ordered or customized based on customer specifications.
Special Order No-Return Policy
- Non-Returnable Items: Special order items, including custom safes and products made or ordered to your specifications, non-stocking SKU items, clearance or discontinued items, are non-returnable and non-refundable. This includes any safes with special finishes, modifications, or unique features requested by the customer.
- Order Confirmation: Once a special order is placed and confirmed, it cannot be canceled or modified without incurring a fee. Please review your order carefully before finalizing.
Fraud Prevention
Norcal Safe and Vault will deny any request to return custom or special order items that deviate from the customer’s initial specifications. Attempts to return items under fraudulent claims will be investigated and reported if necessary.
Defective or Damaged Special Orders
If a special order item arrives defective or damaged, notify us immediately with photos and a description of the issue. We will work to resolve the problem through repair or replacement.
Additional Notes
- Abuse of Return Policy: We reserve the right to refuse returns or charge additional fees if the return policy is abused. Items returned in a condition that does not meet our stated requirements may be subject to restocking fees or denial.
- Non-Refundable Charges: Installation, delivery fees, and original shipping costs are non-refundable.
- Chargeback Disputes: Customers are required to follow Norcal Safe and Vault’s return procedures before initiating a chargeback with their credit card provider. Failing to do so may result in the denial of the return or refund.
